The stories I write are very diverse, ranging from children’s stories to psychological thrillers. In my scripts, I aim to captivate my audience by transporting them to extraordinary situations and places, often featuring characters who appear quite ordinary, with the goal of giving my stories a universal appeal. I seek to immerse my audience in stories that resonate deeply with something within all of us. I have written the screenplays for all the narrative films I have directed. I have also contributed to the screenplays of several films directed by other filmmakers. In recent years, I have begun writing plays, the most significant of which is Brick Reaction.

PLAY SCRIPT

BRICK REACTION
The concept for Brick Reaction, a closed-door wartime play, came to me during a course on 19th-century Russian theatre at Glendon College. Inspired by Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull, the play shares his critical lens on society, exploring the recurring nature of historical afflictions.
The story unfolds in three distinct time periods—1944, 2026, and 2081—yet always in the same location, with similar characters confronting parallel issues. This structure underscores the difficulty societies face in anticipating and preventing the repetition of past mistakes. Despite its historical scope, the play is primarily a satire of contemporary times, while the 2081 sequences emphasize the long-term consequences of today’s actions.
